A seventh-inning RBI groundout by Manny Machado broke a tie and lifted Baltimore to a 6-5 win over the New York Yankees Friday night.
The win was the third in a row for the Orioles (31-22).
The O’s rallied from a 5-2 deficit with three in the sixth, on a two-run single by Matt Wieters and an RBI double by Jonathan Schoop.
After Machado’s RBI ground ball, Baltimore got a 1-2-3 eighth from reliever Mychal Givens (5-0, 2.05 ERA), and Zach Britton induced a game-ending double play out of Austin Romine in the ninth after giving up a one-out single to Chase Headley to notch his 16th save.
Orioles starter Chris Tillman (7-1, 3.33 ERA) got a no-decision after getting touched up for five runs on eight hits in five and two-thirds innings.
