baltimore oriolesMookie Betts didn’t homer, and that’s news. Baltimore got two dingers from Mark Trumbo and went on to a 12-7 win over the Boston Red Sox Thursday night.

The win gives the Orioles (30-22) a split in the series with the Red Sox (32-22).

Trumbo’s homers, his 16th and 17th, were among the seven hit by the O’s, including two from Adam Jones, his sixth and seventh of the season, and one from Manny Machado, his 14th.

Trumbo is tied for the American League lead in homers.

David Ortiz hit his 16th homer for Boston, a three-run shot in the sixth that gives him an AL-best 51 RBI on the season.

Betts, who had five homers in the previous two games in this series, had an RBI single in the ninth for the Sox, who have a one-game lead in the AL East over the Orioles.
