Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah plans quilt auction

Contributors

augusta-health-headerAugusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah is planning for its first-ever quilt auction, Quilts of Comfort, to benefit its Gifted Care program at the Shenandoah House for persons who cannot afford quality care at the very end of life.

This is an opportunity to support the local not-for-profit hospice by donating a quilted entry in honor or memory of someone special to you. Quilted entries can include handbags, wall hangings, placemats, table runners, quillows and quilts. Small items will be placed in the silent auction.

Large wall hangings and quilts will be auctioned live.  Quilts of Comfort is a community fundraising effort of local quilters, businesses and civic organizations.

The goal of Hospice is to support families, friends and neighbors who have been changed by a life-limiting illness.

Deadline for entries is Feb. 22, 2013. Event will take place at Cornerstone Church of Augusta on April 13, 2013 and will include a pancake breakfast, silent auction and live auction. A pre-showing will be held on April 12 for viewers to view auction items and vote on their favorite quilts.

Please visit www.quiltsofcomfort.org or call (540) 932-4909 for donation forms, rules of entry and additional information.
