Augusta Free Press headed to the ACC Football Kickoff

ACC letters - full-colorThe Atlantic Coast Conference announced Thursday the names of the 28 football student-athletes who have been chosen by its 14 league schools to attend the 2014 ACC Football Kickoff, July 20-21 at the Grandover Resort located in Greensboro, N.C.

Augusta Free Press will be at the ACC Football Kickoff. Editor Chris Graham will interview coaches and players, including UVA coach Mike London, Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer, Heisman Trophy-winning Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, and more.

The football student-athletes who will be attending the 2014 ACC Football Kickoff are:

In all, the ACC Kickoff student-athletes hail from 12 states with six from Florida, five from North Carolina, four from Georgia, three from Virginia, two each from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia and one apiece from Alabama, Massachusetts, Maryland, Kentucky and Tennessee.

All 28 of the participants will be making their first appearance at the ACC Football Kickoff.

Among the offensive players in attendance will be three quarterbacks, four offensive linemen, three running backs, four wide receivers. Defensively, three defensive ends, one defensive tackle, four linebackers, five defensive backs and one bandit will be on hand.

A total of 13 of the 28 student-athletes were chosen first, second or third team All-ACC in 2013.

At least eight of the attendees have already earned an undergraduate degree.
