wayne theatreAugusta Free Press has launched a new website for the historic Wayne Theatre Ross Performing Arts Center in Waynesboro.

The site, online at WayneTheatre.org, highlights upcoming events at the Wayne, which opens in 2016 after a 16-year community project.

The theatre, which opened in 1926 as Waynesboro’s first vaudeville/silent movie theatre, includes a 385-seat performance hall, a 100-seat lecture hall, and a 75-seat cabaret.

The new website also showcases an arts education initiative at the theatre.
