Analysis: TNA Impact ratings fall in second half of 2013 after high-profile departures

tnaAlready-struggling ratings for TNA Impact dropped 2.7 percent after the departures of the creative team of Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan. This according to numbers from TNAInsider.com, which tracked the numbers for Impact for 2013.

For the first time since 2006, Impact’s final rating for the year was below 1.0 in the Nielsens – at 0.99, down 2 percent from 2012’s 1.01 rating and down 16 percent from 2011’s 1.19 rating.

The highest-rated show of the year was the Jan. 24 episode, which drew a 1.17 rating.

There is some relative good news in the report: every show in December had a rating of 1.0 or above.

For a sense of perspective, Spike TV’s average hour draws 890,000 viewers, so Impact still outdraws the average show on Spike.

This is good news, anyway, if WWE doesn’t try to shop SmackDown to Spike when that deal comes up later this year.
