Rose, Brandon DashawnThe Waynesboro Police Department arrested a Waynesboro man Monday night after a SWAT raid at his residence that netted a half-pound of marijuana near a sleeping toddler.

As part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, members of the department’s SWAT Team and Special Operations Division executed a search warrant at 600 Fourth Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. on June 23.  As the SWAT Team members entered the residence, they found Brandon Dashawn Rose, 21,of Waynesboro, sleeping on a couch inside.  He refused to follow the officers’ instructions and physically fought with them.  They were able to subdue Rose after using a Taser on him.

Child Protective Services removed the child from the home and has begun a neglect investigation.

The Special Operations Division launched an investigation focusing on Rose after the April 29th incident in which a 16 year old teenage boy ran from police officers who were investigating reports of a fight. As he was fleeing, he pointed a loaded gun at the pursuing officers.  The fight took place in front of Rose’s residence and it is believed the fight was possibly linked to Rose’s illegal activity.

Rose is facing two charges, Distribution of Marijuana, a felony; and Obstruction of Justice, a misdemeanor.  He is free after posting a $2,500 bond.
