ACC Men’s Soccer: Seven squads ranked in NSCAA preseason poll

accSeven ACC men’s soccer teams, including 2015 College Cup participants Clemson and Syracuse, are ranked in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Preseason Poll as announced Tuesday. The total is the most from any conference in the country.

The Tigers lead the league contingent with a No. 3 ranking. With No. 5 Wake Forest, No. 6 Syracuse, No. 8 North Carolina, and No. 9 Notre Dame, half of the poll’s top 10 are ACC squads.

Boston College will start the season ranked No. 11 in the nation, while Virginia is No. 17 in the in the initial ranking.

The ACC placed seven teams in the NCAA Championship last year, the most of any conference. The Tigers and Orange reached the College Cup, marking the 15th straight year that at least one league team has reached the national semifinals.
