This week, the team at the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge made surprise visits to several of the public schools in Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County to notify and celebrate this year’s Dawbarn Education Award recipients.
For 26 years, the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge has honored a select group of remarkable individuals who have inspired, encouraged, and fostered learning.
Since 1992, the Community Foundation has presented its Dawbarn Education Awards to individuals and organizations who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to improving education in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County public schools.
As the Community Foundation celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Dawbarn Education Awards, it proudly presented $10,000 awards to ten individuals who inspire, encourage, and foster education among youth in the cities of Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County.
Is there someone in our community who you think exemplifies the spirit of service for our children in public education? If so, consider nominating them for a prestigious 2014 Dawbarn Education Award. A total of $100,000 will be awarded to 10 deserving individuals that inspire, encourage and foster learning.
