#5 UNC clamps down on D, ousts #4 Louisville, 70-60, in ACC Tournament

storylogo2Fifth seed UNC trailed 37-32 at the half, but the Tar Heels’ D put the brakes on #4 seed Louisville in the second half to lift Carolina to a 70-60 win in the quarterfinals of the 2015 ACC Tournament.

North Carolina (23-10, 13-7 ACC) advanced to the semifinals and will play top seed UVA (29-2, 17-2 ACC).

That game will tip at 7 p.m. Friday.

Louisville (24-8, 12-7 ACC) shot 51.9 percent in the first half, but the Cardinals missed 28 of their 36 shots in the second half.

UNC got a game-high 22 points from Brice Johnson. Terry Rozer led Louisville with 20, but shot just 6-for-20 from the field.

Montrezl Harrell had 14 points and 12 rebounds for Louisville.
