35th anniversary of Music in the Mountains Bluegrass Festival

newspaperThe 35th Annual Music in the Mountains Bluegrass Festival will take place at Summersville Music Park, Summersville, W.Va., on June 24, 25, 26 & 27. The four day event begins Wednesday, June 24th at 11:00 a.m. and goes until 10:00 p.m. nightly.

Wednesday’s lineup will feature Marteka & William, The James King Band, The Marksmen, Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road, The Larry Gillis Band, and Country/Bluegrass/Grand Ole Opry star Ricky Skaggs and his band Kentucky Thunder will be performing two shows at3:30 pm and 9:00 pm.

Thursday’s lineup begins at 11:00 am and goes until 10:00 pm, featuring Blue-Rock’n Grass, Alan Sibley & The Magnolia Ramblers, Marty Raybon & Full Circle, The Spinney Brothers, Bobby Osborne & The Rocky Top X-Press (Grand Ole Opry Star) and The Jimmy Fortune Trio (formerly with The Statler Brothers and member of The Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee) and will perform one 90-minute show at 3:00 pm.  Dailey & Vincent (Grammy nominated and winner of IBMA Entertainer for three years), will perform one show at 8:30 pm with Jimmy Fortune at 9:30 pm.

Friday’s lineup of talent begins at 11:00 am and goes until 10:00 pm featuring Larry Efaw & The Bluegrass Mountaineers, Melvin Goins & Windy Mountain, The Bluegrass Brothers, and Nothin’ Fancy. Rhonda Vincent & The Rage (Winner of IBMA Female Vocalist 7 Years and Queen of Bluegrass) will perform two shows at 2:45 pm and 7:30 pm. The legendary Gene Watson and The Farewell Party Band will perform one 90-minute show with special guest Rhonda Vincent at 8:30 pm.

Saturday’s lineup of talent begins at 11:00 a.m. featuring Cumberland Gap Connection, The Primitive Quartet, The Little Roy & Lizzy Show, The Tennessee Mafia Jug Band, Goldwing Express and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver (IBMA’s Vocal Group of the Year and Gospel Group of the Year) will perform one 90-minute show at 8:30 pm.

Tickets: Daily ticket prices are $45.00 in advance $50.00 at the gate.  Four day advance $130.00 and $150.00 at the gate. Three day advance $120.00 and $140.00 at the gate. Children ages 7-13-$20.00 per day, children under 6 Free with parent. Special after 6 p.m. price of $30.00. Advance ticket orders must be received by June 14, 2015.

This show will be continuous music from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., featuring the top names in bluegrass music, “The Best of the Best.” Bring your lawn chairs. Hot food concessions on premises.
