Bram Stoker Award– and Scribe Award-winning writer Elizabeth Massie will talk about how the freelance creative writing business has changed and how she has pieced together a fascinating, satisfying career writing a wide variety of genres and topics. She’ll discuss traditional publishing, small press, self-publishing, e-books, and print-on-demand as well as some things to do and not to do. Whether you write to sell or to please yourself, this casual, “let’s chat” format will allow for questions and answers throughout.

Among many others, Elizabeth Massie is author of the adult novels Sineater, Homegrown, Desper Hollow, Homeplace, Wire Mesh Mothers, and Hell Gate; the novelizations of seasons 2 and 3 of Showtime’s original TV show, The Tudors; YA historical Young Founders series; middle grade series Ameri-Scares and Daughters of Liberty; the nonfiction children’s book African American Educators; the photo history Images of America: Waynesboro (co-authored with Cortney Skinner), and the wild, fun, and irreverent not-for-kids picture books You Gonna Die, Fly and Damn You, Demon.

Some of Massie’s books will be available for sale and signing at the event.
