performing arts lurayThe Luray-based classic rock band, Thundergun, will perform hits from the 1960s through the 1980s in a free concert at the Regional Center for the Performing Arts in historic Luray on July 4 from 6-9 p.m.

“Thundergun is always an audience favorite and they put on a great show. We’re happy to have them—along with jazz, blues, and other types of music—for the free performances at Parties on the Plaza,” says PAL Performance Committee Chair Bonnie Anthony.  “And the Plaza is always the best place to watch the July 4 fireworks display.” PAL is partially funded by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The musicians who comprise Thundergun—and who have played together for almost 40 years—are Danny Bailey, lead guitar and vocals; Steve Bolen, bass and vocals; Dale DeSombre, drums; and Larry Taylor, guitar, keyboards and vocals.

Enjoy this free performance of rock classics on PAL’s outdoor plaza, against a backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains just 15 minutes from Skyline Drive. (In case of rain, the performance will be held in the center’s indoor theater.) The Parties in the Plaza series also features a cash bar and light snacks.
