bear creek 2019 ACC Tournament#2 North Carolina took control with an early 15-5 run, and #7 Louisville ran out of gas playing from behind the rest of the night, as UNC won, 83-70, Thursday in the quarterfinals of the 2019 ACC Tournament.

The Cardinals (20-13) briefly got back into it with a 12-0 first-half run that cut the deficit to one, at 34-33, on a Dwayne Sutton three at the 5:35 mark.

But the Tar Heels (27-5) closed the half on an 11-2 run to go into the break up 10.

Louisville hung around for a long while, but a late 11-0 UNC run pushed the Heels’ lead to 18 on a Brandon Robinson free throw with 4:54 to go that made it 79-61, and it was effectively over from there.

Luke Maye and Coby White each had 19 points for Carolina, which also got 14 from Cam Johnson and 11 from Garrison Brooks.

Sutton had 14 points for Louisville, which had Malik Williams post a double-double – 10 points and 13 rebounds.
