10 WrestleMania matches that almost happened: And #1 was …

wweWWE has released a list of 10 WrestleMania matches that almost happened, but for various reasons, didn’t. Among the more interesting: a Mike Tyson-Triple H boxing match, a Hulk Hogan-ric flair WWE title match and a Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Hollywood Hogan match.

Easily the most intriguing match on the list:  Big Show vs. Shaquille O’Neal, which apparently was in the works for WrestleMania 28.

Show vs. Shaq: can you imagine? The largest athlete in the world vs. … the largest athlete in the world.

Don’t doubt that Shaq would have been able to put on a believable match with Big Show, either. For 7’0” and 350 pounds-plus, O’Neal could move, and he seems like the kind of person who wouldn’t just want to cash the big paycheck that would have come his way, but instead would have wanted to earn it.

Factor in what you’d have to expect would have been supreme mic skills from the Big Pontificator, and …

It’s a shame that we didn’t get to see that one.
