“You’ve Been Gerrymandered” will be message at polls on Election Day

onevirginia2021“You’ve Been Gerrymandered!” is the message that OneVirginia2021 volunteers from around the state will share with voters on Election Day in an effort to boost support and raise awareness about redistricting reform.

This Election Day will have over 200 volunteers working all over Virginia’s precincts for what’s expected to be a record turnout of voters.  This is a significant increase in poll workers over last November’s 45 volunteers and March’s 100 volunteers.

“The goal is to raise awareness about our gerrymandered Commonwealth and enlist new supporters to help put an end to gerrymandering in Virginia.  The reception from voters is always warm because we aren’t there telling them who to vote for but to get engaged on an important, bipartisan issue,” said Brian Cannon, executive director of OneVirginia2021.  “These voting districts belong to Virginians, not to any political party, politician, or special interest group.”
