Bridgewater put good pressure on the Seahawks early in the contest with seven shots and three corner kicks in the first 10 minutes of play. The Eagles’ best chance came on a shot by Weigel from just outside the box that hit the crossbar.

The only goal of the first half was an own goal in the 16th minute, giving the Seahawks a 1-0 lead.

Bridgewater finally tied the score with a goal in the 71st minute. Isabella Krider put a pass into the box and Weigel beat the keeper from 15 yards out to tie the score at a goal apiece.

Regulation ended with the score tied at 1-1 and the visitors had the best opportunity in the first OT session when a shot by Gillian Sawyer sailed high, just above the crossbar.

The Eagles were awarded the penalty kick with just 4:49 remaining in the second overtime when Bridgewater midfielder Grayson Mathews was taken down inside the box. Weigel stepped up to take the kick and put her shot into the right side of the net for the winning goal.

Both teams had plenty of chances at the offensive end with the Eagles holding a 23-19 edge in total shots and a 6-3 margin in corner kicks.

Bridgewater keeper Hayley Talbott finished the contest with four saves while Seahawks keeper Sydney Larkin tallied six saves.

The Eagles, now 6-1 on the season, take a week off before returning to action next Saturday when they host Emory & Henry College to open conference play.
