The Waynesboro Senior Center is sponsoring a Warm Up for Winter coat drive that will kick off on Thursday, Sept. 1.
The local community is invited to drop off new and gently used women’s, men’s and children’s coats, gloves, mittens, scarves and boots to the Waynesboro Senior Center for free distribution to those in need.
“Our goal is to collect and provide as many garments to needy individuals and families in the community as possible,” said Karen Hurt, the director of the Waynesboro Senior Center. “We will work with other agencies, churches and schools who wish to become either collection points or distribution centers.”
The coat drive will continue with items collected through Monday, Nov. 28.
Distribution of coats will begin on Oct. 1 and continue through Nov. 28 with items distributed Monday–Thursday, 10 am – 3 pm.
