Update: Waynesboro Police investigating shooting

Update: Wednesday, 5:20 p.m. The Waynesboro Police Department is still investigating a shooting reported on Monday at 6 p.m. on North Bayard Avenue.

The 25-year-old male victim, who is a Waynesboro resident, received a single gunshot wound.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Sergeant R. B. Luzader with the Waynesboro Police Department at (540) 942-6664 or Central Shenandoah Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 322-2017.  Information given to Crime Stoppers may be given anonymously.  Callers with information that lead to an arrest in this case are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.

 

Original post: Monday, 10:52 p.m. At approximately 6 p.m. Monday, officers with the Waynesboro Police Department responded to a report of a gunshot wound in the 200 block of North Bayard Avenue.

Officer arrived and met the victim who had a single gunshot wound that appeared to be non-life threatening.

Officers collected evidence from the scene while the victim was transported to Augusta Health. The victim was treated and later released.

This is an ongoing investigation.
