The Waynesboro Police Department is investigating a home invasion armed robbery in which shots were fired.
On Thursday, Oct. 10, at approximately 1:40 a.m., officers responded to an apartment at Fairfax Hall, 1101 Reservoir Street, for a report of several masked subjects entering the building armed with weapons. When officers arrived, they spoke to three victims, a 60 year old Waynesboro man, a 41 year old Waynesboro man and a 38 year old Richmond man.
All of the men indicated that at least three masked men with guns entered the complex when a one of the victims opened the door for a female friend. As soon as they entered, the assailants forced all three victims on the floor and robbed them of cash and other valuables estimated at $550. During the course of the robbery, the subjects fired at least two shots. Other than the 38 year old victim receiving minor lacerations, there were no injuries.

No description of the third suspect is available but all were wearing face coverings that resembled ski masks. The Police Department is not treating this as a random incident and believes the victims were targeted.
