Waynesboro Police investigating credit card theft

Contributors

The Waynesboro Police Department is requesting assistance from the community to help identify four individuals who are involved in a recent credit card theft operation that netted thousands of dollars in illegally obtained gift cards.

A surveillance camera captured images of the assailants on February 9, 2016 at Target, 811 Town Center Drive.  On that date sometime after 11:00 AM, the suspects stole the wallet of a 69 year old Crozet woman as she dined at Panera, 1101 Red Top Orchard Drive.  They immediately went to Target and obtained nearly $4,000 in gift cards.

Officers believe that the victim was unaware that her wallet was missing until the suspects had already finished their purchase and fled Waynesboro.

The suspects then went to Targets in Harrisonburg, Front Royal and Winchester yesterday and obtained several more gift cards totally upwards of $15,000 using other credit cards from other victims who have not yet been identified.

The suspects are all white males of unknown ethnicity and driving a dark colored new Jeep Grand Cherokee.

If anyone has information as to the identity of these individuals, please call the Waynesboro Police Department at (540) 942-6675 to speak with Officer Will Elliott or call Central Shenandoah Crime Stoppers at (800) 322-2017.  Anyone who gives information that leads to an arrest of the offender can receive a cash reward.
