Waynesboro Generals make it two in a row, top Aldie, 7-0
The Waynesboro Generals got another solid pitching performance on the road at Aldie Wednesday night in a dominating 7-0 win over the Senators.
Corey Armentrout (sophomore, Bridgewater) picked up the win with five innings of three-hit baseball. Armentrout (1-1) lowered his ERA to a miniscule 0.71 with the outing.
A Western Carolina trio of relievers closed things out – with Taylor Sandefur throwing two scoreless innings and Bryce Danielson and Thomas Young putting in an inning each.
JoJo Woods (junior, Central Florida) went 2-for-4 at the plate to improve his batting average to .385 for the season. Danny Lynch (sophomore, Elon) and Julius Gaines (sophomore, Florida International) also had two hits each for Waynesboro, which improves to 4-4 on the season with its second consecutive win.
The Generals are scheduled to host their rivals, the Staunton Braves, on Thursday at Linco Park at Kate Collins Field. The game is the WSVA Waynesboro Generals Game of the Week. The broadcast begins at 6:30 p.m. with a pregame show hosted by play-by-play man Chris Graham.
