Waynesboro, Aldie split Friday night doubleheader

generals-new logo2Aaron Howell and two Waynesboro relievers combined to limit the Aldie Senators to two hits in an 8-2 Generals win in the nightcap of a doubleheader Friday night at Linco Park at Kate Collins Field.

The win gave Waynesboro a split after the Senators won game one, 4-1.

Howell (1-0, 8.64 ERA) went four and two-thirds innings to earn the win, allowing a run on one hit in his stint, striking out two and walking four.

Jeremy Taylor and Imani Willis each had two hits for the Generals, and Michael Brosseau had two runs batted in.

Burk FitzPatrick (3-1, 3.08 ERA) threw a complete-game two-hitter in the opener, striking out four and walking one.

Robert Pearson (0-3, 7.06 ERA) took the loss, giving up four runs on six hits in six innings, striking out two and walking one.
