Washington Redskins rally, defeat Philadelphia Eagles, 23-20

redskins-helmet1Kirk Cousins connected with Pierre Garcon on a 4-yard TD pass with 26 seconds left to lift the Washington Redskins to a 23-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at FedEx Field.

Washington (2-2) had led 13-0 at the half, but the Eagles (1-3) stormed back behind three second-half touchdown passes by Sam Bradford – 62 yards to Riley Cooper and 10 yards to Brent Celek in the third quarter, and 39 yards to Miles Austin 20 seconds into the fourth quarter.

The Redskins got the ball back at their own 10 for one last drive with 6:05 to go. Cousins led a 15-play, 90-yard drive, going 7-for-11 passing on the drive for 50 yards.

Alfred Morris had 38 yards on four carries on the drive after coming into the drive with just 24 yards on 13 carries for the game.

Cousins finished 31-for-46 passing for 289 yards and a touchdown.

Bradford was 15-for-29 passing for 269 yards and three touchdowns for Philadelphia, who got 36 yards on eight carries from tailback DeMarco Murray.

The Eagles ran for 83 yards on 18 carries. Washington ran 33 times for 125 yards as the ‘Skins put up 417 yards of total offense on the day.

Redskins wideout Jamison Crowder, a rookie from Duke, had eight catches on 13 targets for 78 yards.
