Stephen Strasburg (10-0, 3.03 ERA) wasn’t at his best, but after giving up four runs in the first three innings, he settled down and went seven, charged with four runs on five hits, striking out 10 and walking one.

The Nats (37-24) won this one with the bats. Murphy (.376/.414/.624) was 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBI (42).

Wilson Ramos (.345/.395/.567) hit his ninth homer in the fourth, followed by a solo shot by Stephen Drew (.226/.279/.500), his fifth.

Danny Espinosa (.214/.300/.393) hit his 10th homer in the sixth, on a 3-for-4 night.

Jayson Werth (.239/.299/.443) was 1-for-2 with a two-run double and two walks.

Washington has a two-and-a-half game lead on the New York Mets (34-26) in the National League East.
