For the second time in three years, Virginia is a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Cavaliers (26-7) are the top seed in the Midwest Region and will face MEAC champ Hampton (21-10) on Thursday in Raleigh.
The 8-9 matchup in the Midwest will feature Texas Tech (19-12) and Butler (21-10).
The two seed in the Midwest, naturally, is Michigan State (29-5), the Big 10 Tournament champ, and the team that has knocked UVA out of the past two NCAA Tournaments.
The Midwest also has Utah (26-8) at #3, Iowa State (21-11) at #4 and Purdue (26-8) at #5.
Syracuse (19-13) gets in off the NCAA bubble with the #10.
