The Virginia-Wake Forest game will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic Plus and other regionals sports networks. The game will be broadcast on the Virginia Sports Radio Network and Sirius (Channel 93) and XM (Channel 191) satellite radio stations. Tickets for the Virginia-Wake Forest game may be purchased online at VirginiaSports.com/tickets. Fans may also purchase tickets through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office by telephone and in person. The ticket office is located in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium and open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Telephone purchases can be made by calling 1-800-542-8821. Tickets may also be purchased on game day at the JPJ box office starting at 5:30 p.m.

Wake Forest edged Virginia, 55-52, in Winston-Salem on Jan. 9, 2013.

• C.J. Harris scored 16 points and Travis McKie added 14 points for the Demon Deacons, who led by 14 points midway through the second half before holding off a rally by the Cavaliers in the final six minutes.

Wake Forest won despite shooting just 26 percent after halftime and going the final 10 minutes without a field goal.

Mike Tobey led Virginia with 14 points and Joe Harris added 13.

 

Last Time Out

Virginia turned in a strong defensive effort on the road, defeating Florida State 62-50 in its ACC opener on Jan. 4.

• The Cavaliers ended their 10-game losing streak and 17-game skid in the state of Florida despite losing senior Joe Harris to a concussion at the 17:37 mark of the first half.

• Justin Anderson led the Cavaliers in scoring for the fourth straight game, netting a game-high 16 points.

London Perrantes tallied a career-high 14 points and Akil Mitchell had 11 points and 13 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.

Virginia’s success has been highlighted by its fifth-ranked defense, rebounding and balanced scoring. The Cavaliers are yielding 56.2 points per game and grabbing 55.3 percent of the rebounds, ruling the glass in 11 of 14 games and enjoying a +8.2 average rebound margin per game. UVa also ranks 10th in the nation in field goal percentage defense at 37.5 percent.

Virginia is averaging 64.6 points per game, marking their second-highest total under head coach Tony Bennett. Virginia is averaging 26.2 bench points and has outscored its opponents 384-288 in the paint.
