UVA basketball remains at #3 in national polls

UVA basketball is holding steady in the Associated Press and USA Today coaches polls this week at #3.

The Cavs (13-0, 1-0 ACC) defeated Davidson, 83-72 on Dec. 30, rallying from a 12-point first-half deficit, then held off a Miami rally on Saturday in their ACC opener to win, 89-80, in double overtime.

Virginia, off to its first 13-0 start since 1980, also held its #2 ranking in the ESPN Basketball Power Index and the KenPom.com and Jeff Sagarin power ratings.

Kentucky is ranked #1 in both the national polls and in each of the three power ratings. Duke is #2 in the polls and #3 in the three power ratings.

UVA hosts N.C. State (11-4, 2-0 ACC) on Wednesday.
