University of Richmond basketball releases home game times

ur-spiders1Richmond men’s basketball has announced the game times for the remaining UR home games in the Robins Center.

Richmond will open the season at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 13 against JMU as part of a doubleheader with the women’s basketball team. UR will then take on Stetson on Sunday evening at 5 p.m. in another doubleheader in the Robins Center.

Spider fans will be treated to a full day of UR sports action on Saturday, November 21 as the football team kicks off the 125th meeting with William & Mary at noon, followed by Richmond men’s basketball versus Bethune-Cookman at 6 p.m.

Last year’s NCAA tournament team Northern Iowa will come to the Robins Center at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. One week later, Longwood and UR will tip off at 6:30 p.m. in a game that will be televised on WTVR-TV CBS 6.

Richmond’s final home game of the calendar year will tip off at noon on Dec. 22 as the Spiders tangle with the Blue Hose of Presbyterian.

In Atlantic 10 play, Richmond and La Salle will face off at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13. The Bank of America Capital City Classic matchup with VCU on Saturday, Jan. 16 will be televised on CBS Sports Network and tip off at 2 p.m.

UR will face George Mason on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m., followed by Saturday night games against UMass (2/6) and Fordham (2/13), both tipping at 6 p.m.

Last season, the Spiders ranked in the top 100 in the country in home attendance. With a home record of 16-4, the Spiders won more home games than any year in program history. Richmond will play 16 home games in 2015-16, with six contests already slated for national television. Regional and local broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
