Pritchard has led the local United Way since 2009. She is leaving the organization for a new post as president and CEO of the Delaware Grantmakers Association in Wilmington, Del.

The United Way will begin a search for a new president and CEO immediately.

“During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to lead, while still maintaining a stable and effective organization,” Frazier said.

Pritchard will be honored for her years of service at the United Way’s upcoming 75th anniversary celebration, Frazier said.

“We cannot thank Cynthia enough for the dedication, passion, enthusiasm and motivation she has given United Way over the past 7.5 years. She will be greatly missed by the staff, board, donors, community and partners alike. We look forward to following the success of her career and are hopeful and excited for the next chapter of United Way as we continue to support our community of funders in our important work,” Frazier said.
