Update: Second man arrested in Staunton stabbing

Update: Wednesday, 3:41 p.m. At approximately 3 p.m. Wednesday, the Waynesboro Police Department arrested Frank R. Lambert Jr., 52 of Waynesboro in connection with the stabbing incident that occurred on July 24 in the city of Staunton. Lambert was charged with felony malicious wounding.

 

Original story: Monday, 11:59 a.m. A Crimora man was injured in a stabbing in Staunton, with one man in custody and a second suspect at large.

The Staunton Police Department responded at 9 p.m. Sunday to the 600 block of Greenville Avenue on the report of a stabbing. Witnesses reported that two males were involved in a physical altercation with the victim. At some point during the altercation the victim was stabbed.

The victim has been identified as William Hubbard III, 26, of Crimora. Hubbard was transported to University Virginia Medical Center for treatment.

One suspect has been identified, Troy R. Johnson Jr., 31, of Staunton has been arrested and charged with felony malicious wounding. He was incarcerated without bond.

The second suspect remains at large. Frank R. Lambert Jr., 52, of Waynesboro, is wanted for felony malicious wounding.
