randy forbesJust over a week after launching his campaign for Virginia’s Second Congressional District, Congressman Randy Forbes announced today that over 30 of the region’s most well-respected public servants and former elected officials at the local, state, and national levels have come out in force with early endorsements of his campaign.

All total, the list of supporters includes six Members serving in the Virginia General Assembly, eight Members of Boards of Supervisors, and nine City Council Members, in addition to Sheriffs, School Board Members, and Commonwealth’s Attorneys from across the Second District.

Both Congressman Scott Rigell and Congressman Rob Wittman, who currently represent the region in the U.S. House of Representatives, have offered their unequivocal endorsements of Congressman Forbes, stating:

U.S. Congressman Scott Rigell (VA-02):”Randy Forbes’ influence and leadership on national defense are not just helpful — they are crucial — to the future of the Second District.”
U.S. Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01):”Forbes is undeniably the best choice for this region. I’ve worked closely with Randy in Congress, and I can confidently say his leadership is absolutely key to our national security and to the Commonwealth’s prosperity and economic growth.”
Here is what key state and local elected officials are saying about Congressman Forbes:
Delegate Brenda Pogge, James City County, York County: “With an unrivaled record of standing for conservative values in Congress, Randy Forbes is hands down the best choice for the Second District.”

Sheriff Danny Diggs, York-Poquoson: “This region would suffer immeasurably without the leadership and integrity of Randy Forbes.”
Councilman John Moss, Virginia Beach: “Congressman Forbes’ voice in Washington is imperative to our region’s economic future and our nation’s security. His intellect on national defense issues is a national treasure.”
Chairman Jeff Wassmer, Board of Supervisors, York County: “Our businesses, defense contractors, shipbuilders, and servicemembers count on Forbes’ effective advocacy. At a time when our region continues to be hit by defense cutbacks, losing Randy’s experience and seniority would be a disaster.”
Senator John Cosgrove, Virginia Beach: “Forbes’ deep Hampton Roads roots and years of unparalleled service to our region makes him the most qualified candidate to represent Virginia Beach.”
Councilman Bobby Dyer, Virginia Beach: “My service in the Marine Corps taught me to recognize true leadership. Rep Forbes’ unquestionable character and courage make him the leader Virginia Beach needs.”
Sheriff Bob Deeds, Williamsburg-James City County: “There’s no greater conservative voice in Congress or stronger advocate for our men and women in uniform than Randy Forbes.”
