#7 Virginia baseball defeats #2 UNC in 11, 8-7, takes series

The No. 7 Virginia baseball team scored four runs in the 11th inning and then held off a furious North Carolina rally in the bottom of the inning to claim a wild 8-7 victory over the second-ranked Tar Heels Saturday afternoon in front of a sellout crowd of 4,100 at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill. Virginia (45-9, 22-8 ACC) won the series, two games to one, and captured eight of its 10 ACC series this year.

#2 UNC rallies late, stuns #7 UVa., 8-5

Second-ranked North Carolina scored six runs in the eighth inning to rally from a 5-2 deficit and knock off the No. 7-ranked Virginia baseball team, 8-5, Friday night in front of a sellout crowd of 4,100 at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill. UVa. (44-9, 21-8) had its six-game win streak snapped as the Tar Heels (47-7, 21-6 ACC) evened the series at a game apiece and also clinched the ACC Coastal Division title.

#7 Virginia takes Game 1 from #2 UNC, 10-4

The No. 7 Virginia baseball team scored in six different innings in a methodical 10-4 defeat of No. 2 North Carolina Thursday evening in front of 3,095 fans at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill. Virginia (44-8, 21-7 ACC) won its sixth straight game while handing UNC (46-7, 20-6) just its fourth home loss in 37 games this year.

Former UVa. baseball player David Adams called up to New York Yankees

Former Virginia infielder David Adams has been called up for the first time by the New York Yankees and will be in uniform Wednesday evening. Adams played for the Cavaliers from 2006-08.

#7 UVa. baseball romps past VCU, 17-3

The No. 7 Virginia baseball team rolled to a 17-3 victory over VCU Tuesday evening in front of 3,162 fans at Davenport Field. Virginia (43-8) finished its 2013 home schedule with a 32-3 record as it scored in double figures for the third straight game.
