The final polls, my prediction, more

Two new polls out Monday have Bath County State Sen. Creigh Deeds building a commanding lead in the Democratic Party gubernatorial primary heading into the Tuesday state primary.
The final pre-election Public Policy Polling poll has Deeds at 40 percent, with former nomination frontrunner Terry McAuliffe at 26 percent and former Northern Virginia lawmaker Brian Moran at 24 percent. The final pre-election Survey USA poll has Deeds at 42 percent to 30 percent for McAuliffe and 21 percent for Moran. Read more

McAuliffe, Signer, Marrow

It’s time we get past the divisions that we’ve allowed to hold us back the past several years in Richmond and get Virginia moving forward, and most importantly get our economy moving forward. McAuliffe still leads in Survey USA

Another day, another poll, and another direction in the 2009 Democratic Party gubernatorial race. This one comes from Survey USA, which has Terry McAuliffe in the lead by six points over Creigh Deeds in numbers that do represent some movement from the most recent Survey USA poll, but not much.   Read more

Worst to first

Creigh Deeds has moved from the back of the pack to the front with a week to go in the 2009 Democratic Party gubernatorial contest, according to a poll released Tuesday.
Deeds registered at 27 percent in the Public Policy Polling poll, with Terry McAuliffe at 24 percent and Brian Moran at 22 percent. The most recent PPP poll had McAuliffe at 29 percent and Deeds and Moran at 20 percent each, and a month ago McAuliffe had held a significant lead at 30 percent to 20 percent for Moran and just 14 percent for Deeds. Meet the Candidates – tonight!

The Waynesboro Democratic Committee and Augusta Free Press Publishing are sponsoring a Meet the Candidates event at the Downtown Pavilion in Constitution Park tonight – Tuesday – from 6-8 p.m.
The primary to decide Democratic Party nominees for governor, lieutenant governor and the 25th District are a week away – Tuesday, June 9.
25th District Democratic candidates Greg Marrow and Jim Noel are scheduled to be on hand for tonight’s event, which is free and open to the public. Representatives and surrogates for the Creigh Deeds, Terry McAuliffe and Brian Moran campaigns for governor and the Mike Signer and Jody Wagner campaigns for lieutenant governor are also slated to be with us.
