Chris DeWald: Post-stroke food shopping

If you are capable of going out, whether it be alone or with a caregiver, get outdoors. Depending on your mental and physical situation, this shall dictate what type of food store is easier for you. By this, I mean you do not “overload,”  get “hemmed” in feelings. Being out should be enjoyable, so how do we attain this? First, I am going to use myself as that example. Blood thinners

Blood thinners are commonly used in the prevention of strokes. This is especially important for people who have suffered a first stroke, as they have an increased risk of suffering a second one. In fact, about 30 percent of all strokes in a given year are repeat strokes. Thus, stroke survivors must be diligent about stroke prevention. According to the American Stroke Association, some survivors experience apathy and don’t seem to care about anything. “People often mistake this for depression because survivors are content to sit and stare at the wall all day.” “The best response is to get them active and moving.
