March art classes open at Staunton Augusta Art Center
Staunton Augusta Art Center and Mary Baldwin College art students present Saturdays-in-March art classes for ages 6-10, 10:30-Noon in the R. R. Smith Center, 20 S. New Street.

Staunton Augusta Art Center issues a call for entries
The Staunton Augusta Art Center invites artists working in all mediums, including fine crafts, to submit application for major gallery exhibitions to be scheduled in the Staunton Augusta Art Center galleries in 2013-2015.
Applications may be made by individuals for solo exhibitions or by curators or groups for group shows. To apply, please submit a resume and general artist’s statement for each participating artist and images (digital images are preferred, labeled slides and photographs will be accepted) of at least eight different pieces of representative work created by each artist. Art Center announces exhibition, winter classes
The Staunton Augusta Art Center announces the first 2012 gallery exhibition and winter classes.
The exhibit Divergent Visions: Works by the Graduate Art Faculty of James Madison University will open in the Staunton Augusta Art Center galleries with a reception Friday, Jan. 13, 5-7 p,m. The general public is cordially invited to attend.
The exhibition will remain on display through Feb. 19. Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. All are welcome to visit the gallery and there is no admission fee.
The 10 participating faculty members are Sukjin Choi, Corinne Diop, Gary Freeburg, Rebecca Silberman, Greg Stewart, Ken Szmagaj, Allyson Mellberg Taylor, Lisa Tubach, Cole Welter, and Susan Zurbrigg. Read more
Art for Gifts offers last-minute options
Art for Gifts at the Staunton Augusta Art Center is open Christmas Eve 10 a.m.-6 p.m. for your last-minute shopping if you want something truly unique for that special someone.
The Art Center will be closed Christmas Day and will re-open the day after through Dec. 31. During that last week (Dec. 26-31, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday) of Art for Gifts, the Center is extending a 10 percent discount to everyone(members and non-members).
Art for Gifts opens Friday
The Staunton Augusta Art Center tips off its annual Art for Gifts exhibition and sale with an opening reception on Friday, Nov. 18, from 5-8 p.m.
Art for Gifts features affordable, unique gifts of art and fine craft by more than 70 Virginia artists, many participating for the first time.
The exhibition and sale runs from Nov. 18-Dec. 31 and is open seven days a week with extended hours – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. (Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.)
The Staunton Augusta Art Center is located at 20 S. New St. in the Smith Center building across from the Visitor Center and parking garage in historic Downtown Staunton.
No admission charge. Members receive a 10 percent discount on all purchases.

Opening for new Staunton Augusta Art Center exhibit
Staunton Augusta Art Center presents Fanning Out, sculptural and functional ceramics by Nancy Ross.
The exhibit will run Aug. 5-Sept. 25 at the R. R. Smith Center for History and Art, 20 S. New St., across from the Visitor Center and parking garage in historic Downtown Staunton.
The opening reception is Friday, Aug. 5, 5-7 p.m.
Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, 1-4 p.m. Sunday.
