JMU lax gets win over Drexel
James Madison used an 8-1 second-half scoring run to pull away to an insurmountable lead in a 15-8 win over Drexel in Colonial Athletic Association women’s lacrosse Sunday afternoon at the JMU Lacrosse Complex.
The defending two-time CAA champion Dukes improved to 3-0 in league play and 7-5 overall as JMU posted its third straight win. Read more
JMU women’s lax tops Hofstra
The James Madison women’s lacrosse team remained unbeaten in Colonial Athletic Association play with a convincing 12-6 win over visiting Hofstra on Friday afternoon at the JMU Lacrosse Complex.
The two-time defending CAA champion Dukes improved their league record to 2-0 and upped their overall record to 6-5. Hofstra dropped to 1-1 in CAA play and 2-9 overall. Read more
JMU lax blows out Mason
The James Madison lacrosse team downed George Mason 16-6 in Colonial Athletic Association action on Saturday.
The Dukes trailed 3-2 early in the first half, but ended on an 8-0 run to take a 10-3 lead to halftime. Redshirt junior Casey Ancarrow (Jarrettsville, Md./John Carroll) led the Dukes with five goals and an assist while senior Monica Zabel (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) added a goal and five assists. EMU sweeps Hampden-Sydney
Two days after breaking a seven-game losing skid, Eastern Mennonite’s baseball team got a pair of key ODAC wins. EMU grabbed a walk-off, extra inning win in the opener and then clubbed their way to a high-scoring win in the nightcap. Read more
RMH to host new weekly walking program for seniors
RMH will host a free Thursday morning community walking program on its campus for seniors beginning April 12.
The new “In the Loop” walking group is open to those aged 55 and up. Walks around the new RMH Health Campus will start at 9 a.m. Walkers will meet in Lot B, outside the Hahn Building. No registration is required. Read more

How do you break a losing skid during which you averaged a respectable five runs per game? Scoring 17 times should do the trick. Eastern Mennonite did that Thursday, taking over with an eight-run sixth inning en route to a 17-13 victory over Southern Virginia.
The Royals committed three errors in the top of the second and fell behind their visitors 8-2. Despite the early deficit, the men kept attacking and chiseled the lead down to 8-6 after three. Read more
