The Pulse | Silly season going on largely outside public view

That’s what I call the part to an election cycle where we have the debates and the candidate endorsement interviews.

I refer to it as the silly season because, well, to be honest, I just don’t see the value to the hand-wringing that goes on with debates and endorsements, on all sides.

Which isn’t to say that I didn’t put a premium value on debates and endorsements back when I was running for City Council in Waynesboro last year. Read more

Two more debates available on media outlets today

25th District candidates Steve Landes and Greg Marrow will meet for a debate this morning at 10 a.m. on WSVA-550AM.

The debate will be the second debate available over the media airwaves between the candidates. Landes and Marrow met for a debate sponsored by the News Virginian and NBC29 on Sept. 24. Read more

Greg Marrow | Funding transportation

I wanted to take a moment and respond to Del. Landes’ recent press release regarding transportation funding. It is quite telling that Del. Landes is asking me for ideas on how to fund our current transportation crisis since he has no plan of his own. For four of the last six years we have not had a transportation budget to adequately fund our roads. And now, Virginia was faced to close our rest stops throughout the state. Read more

Landes declines debate invite

Citing issues with fairness, Steve Landes is backing out of a debate invitation from the News Leader and WHSV-TV3 with 25th District challenger Greg Marrow.

“I’ve expressed my concerns of the editorial board – not being fair and balanced – moderating a debate between my opponent and me,” Landes told the News Leader on Thursday. Read more

Steve Landes thinks this is to his benefit.
