DCCU announces promotions
DuPont Community Credit Union recently announced three management promotions within the credit union’s information systems and member support departments. The promotions include Cindy Nuckoles as systems manager, Jeremy Wilson as network manager, and Cheyenne Bridge as member support manager.
“We are very happy to have Cindy, Jeremy and Cheyenne taking on these important management roles within our information systems and member support departments,” said Kimberly L. Dean, DCCU‘s senior vice president of information technology. “These three will play a vital role in allowing DCCU to continue to provide the best service possible to our members.”
Cindy Nuckoles has been in the financial services industry for 27 years, and has worked with DCCU for 24 years. Nuckoles has held numerous positions with DCCU, and was most recently the member support manager.
She is a graduate of the Elizabeth Brants Business School with an accounting certificate, and the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce 2007-2008 Leadership Program.
Nuckoles lives in Stuarts Draft with her husband, Robert, and they have one daughter.
Jeremy Wilson has been with DCCU for four years, and was most recently the networking supervisor. He has a career studies certificate from Blue Ridge Community College in computer networking technologies, and numerous professional information technology certifications.
Wilson lives in Hinton with his wife, Sara, and he has one daughter and a step-son.
Cheyenne Bridge has been with DCCU for 15 years. She has held numerous positions with the cedit uion, and was most recently image services supervisor.
She is currently working on an associate’s degree in business from Blue Ridge Community College. Bridge has been active in the Greater Augusta United Way at DCCU and has served on the United Way’s Citizens Review Team.
She lives in Sherando with her husband, Glenwood, and their three children.
DCCU announces 3Q numbers
DuPont Community Credit Union continued to demonstrate the availability of credit by once again growing total loans outstanding for the third quarter of 2011.
The Waynesboro-headquartered credit union, which operates nine branches in the Central Shenandoah Valley region, reported 17.1 percent and 0.1 percent increases in total loans funded and outstanding balances over the previous quarter. This brings the amount of total loans outstanding to $577.9 million as of the end of the third quarter.
Total real estate loans funded increased 32.6 percent over the previous quarter and decreased 11.9 percent over the third quarter of 2010. This brings the total amount of real estate loans funded for the year to $76.2 million.
DCCU also reported that the credit union’s equity or net worth ended the third quarter at $72.2 million, signifying its continuing soundness. In addition, it maintained the designation as “well-capitalized” by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), the highest designation. DCCU remembers founder, Tichenor
Dr. Robert L. Tichenor, 93, the last surviving founder and long-time director of DuPont Community Credit Union passed away recently. Dr. Tichenor was the first person appointed director emeritus in 2006 after 47 years of distinguished service to the credit union.
“The DuPont Community Credit Union family was very sad to hear of Bob Tichenor’s passing,” said DCCU President and CEO Gerald B. Hershey. “Bob was quite progressive and innovative for his time and a true leader for the Credit Union movement in Virginia and the United States, and he will be missed by us all.”
Dr. Tichenor joined the Benger Lab E.I. DuPont De Nemours Plant in Waynesboro as a research chemist in 1950. In 1959, Dr. Tichenor was instrumental in organizing the Waynesboro DuPont Employees Credit Union, which was later to become DuPont Community Credit Union, and was elected the Credit Union’s first president.
Dr. Tichenor served in many important positions at DCCU including: Member of the Supervisory Committee for three years, 1960-1962; Member of the Board of Directors for 27 years, 1959, 1965-1970 and 1986-2006; and Director Emeritus for five years, 2006-2011.
Dr. Tichenor is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lily Olsen Tichenor, four children, John Tichenor of Richmond; Nancy Tichenor of Phoenix, Arizona; David Tichenor of Waynesboro, Anne Tichenor Bandy of Carmichael, California and three grandchildren.
DCCU shows growth in second quarter
DuPont Community Credit Union saw growth at the end of the second quarter of 2011 for total lending. The credit union also showed growth in real estate loans for the second quarter.

This brings the amount of total loans to $575.6 million as of the end of the second quarter. Total real estate loans increased 0.7 percent during the second quarter of 2011 which includes $22.1 million funded during the second quarter.
DCCU also reported that the credit union’s equity or net worth increased by 3.1 percent to end the second quarter at $71.2 million, signifying its continuing soundness. In addition, the Credit Union maintained the designation as “well-capitalized” by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), the highest designation. DCCU announces marketing promotion
DuPont Community Credit Union recently announced that Lindsey Megginson of Greenville has been promoted to marketing manager.
“We are excited to have Lindsey join DCCU’s leadership team as marketing manager,” said Suzie Cook, DCCU vice president of marketing. “Lindsey will provide day to day supervision of the Marketing Department, and effectively promote and market DCCU to our members and the public.”
Megginson has been with DCCU for five years, serving in various positions, most recently as marketing specialist. She received a bachelor of business administration in management from James Madison University. Megginson has been active with the United Way of Greater Augusta, and is a volunteer for CASA for Children of Augusta County, Staunton, Waynesboro, Rockbridge/Lexington, and Alleghany/Covington. She lives in Greenville.

DCCU, Zeus team up to raise funds for homeless shelters
DuPont Community Credit Union is partnering for the second time with Zeus Digital Theater to raise funds for local homeless shelters. DCCU staff chose homeless shelters in the Shenandoah Valley as the Credit Union’s 2011 Corporate Charity.
On Tuesday, July 19, for anyone purchasing a ticket at the Zeus Theater for any showing and who provides a fundraiser business card or flyer, $1.00 of the cost of admission will be donated to homeless shelters in the Valley. The fundraiser flyers or business cards can be picked up at any of the Credit Union’s offices, or by going to the Credit Union’s website at www.mydccu.com.

Two members elected to DCCU Board of Directors
The members of DuPont Community Credit Union recently elected two members to the Board of Directors for three-year terms.
Q. Maurice Gresham of Augusta County was re-elected to the Board and Lynn Wagner of Augusta County was elected for the first time to the Board.
Gresham has served on the Board for seven years, and lives with his wife, Lucille, in Augusta County. He retired in 2002 as Technical Marketing Representative for Lycra Spandex after a 36-year career at DuPont.
Wagner lives in Augusta County, where she has been lifelong resident, with her husband Mike. She worked for 19 years at Virginia Metalcrafters, and for the past 15 years she has been a Realtor.
The Board of Directors also appointed Robert Arbaugh of Waynesboro to a vacancy on the Board, due to the passing of Raymond Reed of Waynesboro, at their May meeting. Mr. Arbaugh will serve until next year’s election for Board members.
The Board also selected its officers at their recent meeting. Everett J. Campbell, Jr. of Afton will again serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Gresham will serve as Vice Chairman of the Board. Mrs. Mary Rothacker of Waynesboro will once again serve as Secretary of the Board. Mr. Leslie E. Ramsey of Waynesboro will serve as Treasurer of the Board.
