New Second Wind Session to Begin at Maury River Senior Center

Maury River Senior Center is continuing series of classes open to those who are 50 and older; “Second Wind” winter session classes will begin January 21 and run for 10 weeks. These offerings will all be scheduled for late afternoons and early evenings to accommodate the schedules of those who are working.

Volunteers Sought For Disease Management Program

Leader Training for the “You Can! Live Well, Virginia!” Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) will be held on January 17, 18, 24 and 25 from 9:00 – 4:00 at the Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington. Light snacks, lunch and all necessary materials will be provided.

The winners of the 16th annual Independent Publisher Book Awards were announced at the annual BookExpo America publishing convention in New York City.
