Bath Community Senior Center seeks a substitute van driver: Van drivers work Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is an on call, part-time position at BCSC under the supervision of the Center Director.

Thirteen Bath Community Senior Center members and three staff members enjoyed an overnight trip May 21 – 22 to Wytheville, VA, courtesy of The Bath County Parks and Recreation. With an early morning start and a quick stop for lunch, we arrived at the Quality Inn in Wytheville.

On April 17, Bath Community Senior Center members and staff enjoyed lunch at Jason’s Pizza following a morning of exercise at the Bath Wellness Center. It was a wonderful day of fun, food and friends.


New Staff Joins the Bath Community Senior Center

After nearly four months of posting employment ads for a Director at the Bath Community Senior Center (BCSC) with little to no response, Chief Administrative Officer Jenn Chestnut struck gold when Alicia Wrights submitted her interest in the position. After an interview was conducted with Jenn, Interim Director Nancy Johnson, BCSC Local Council Chairwoman Mary Susan Blankenship, and BCSC Local Council member and VPAS Board director PY Henry on March 10, it was obvious Alicia was the perfect match for the position.


Recruitment to Begin Soon for a New Bath Community Senior Center Director

An unexpected change in leadership at Bath Community Senior Center has created the need to recruit a new center director. Susan Loan, who accepted the center director position at BCSC on Oct. 31 and was to join the center on Nov. 11, announced on Nov. 8 that she was no longer interested in the position.


New Bath Community Senior Center Director to Join VPAS Nov. 11

Bath Community Senior Center Director Laurie Altieri, who joined VPAS on Sept. 12, announced her resignation on Oct. 23. Recruitment for a new director started immediately following Laurie’s resignation notice. On Oct. 31, Susan Loan, who previously interviewed for the BCSC director position, was selected to join VPAS and BCSC as its new director.
