Students complete Woodrow Wilson Leadership Program

woodrow wilson leadership programOn Saturday, the Education Department of the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library honored 14 students representing nine area schools as they completed the requirements for the Woodrow Wilson Student Leadership Program.

The program aimed at rising high school juniors and seniors sought to build leadership skills and an interest in global policymaking as they assume leadership roles within their schools and communities.

The Woodrow Wilson Leadership Program looks to enrich outstanding high school students who demonstrate leadership, integrity, and academic excellence.  Participants were selected based on leadership roles, academic standing, references, and a personal interview.

In addition to receiving their certificates on Saturday, each student was given the opportunity to present a living history project.  Their projects are currently on display in the rotating gallery of the museum.   The 2016 graduates of the Woodrow Wilson Student Leadership Program are Sam Bernard, Grace Blanchard, Hope Campbell, Abigail Cassell, Corey Lee Davis, Gabriella Forward, Megan Grantier, Abigail Kincheloe, Katy Laser, Ricky Oehler, Rebecca Pereles, Madison Phillips, Haley Sanders, and Kelsey Sheffer.
