The cold weather recently put everyone at Staunton Senior Center in the mood for soup.
Last week several members and staff chipped in to make stone soup. Some may know it as Friendship Stew, the idea being that if everyone contributes just a little, something great thing can be made! Although there was not actually a rock in the soup, the tasty concoction had plenty of vegetables including tomatoes, celery, carrots, onions, potatoes, and frozen mixed veggies.
Also present were kidney beans, noodles, a bit of beef, and flavorful beef broth.
Needless to say, there were awesome smells coming out of the kitchen, and the yummy addition to lunch was much appreciated by all.
