Staunton Station Street Market opens 2013 season featuring local artisan crafts and goods

staunton2editsLocal artisan crafts and goods will be the focus of an expanding micro business showcase located at the Staunton Station every second Saturday of the month from 9am-1pm through October.Staunton Station Street Market features a variety of vendors ranging from handmade jewelry, clothing and accessories, local farm products and hand-crafted decorative items.

Permaculture demonstrations, samplings, live music and interactive programs will be part of each month’s offerings, as well as special deals from Staunton Station merchants Rachel’s Quilt Patch, Monica Wilson Photography and Appalachian Piecework Antiques and Textile Studio. Market visitors can enjoy dining at the Depot Grill and visit the Staunton/Augusta Farmer’s Market and other nearby businesses. Market dates are May 11, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14 and October 12.

The Staunton Station Street Market is presented by Virtually Sisters, LLC, a local consulting group that runs 16 West, an innovative coworking business that caters to freelancers, non-profits and micro businesses without brick and mortar locations. In addition to affordable shared space for business and retail activities at 16 West Beverley Street, the storefront is used for community events that promote local arts and community initiatives like the (h)OUR Economy timebank.
