The following is a list of highway work that might affect traffic in the Staunton transportation district during the coming weeks. The Staunton district is comprised of 11 counties: Alleghany, Bath, Rockbridge, Augusta, Highland, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Frederick, Page, Warren and Clarke. Work scheduled is subject to change due to inclement weather and material supplies. Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving tractors during mowing operations. Also, when traveling through a work zone, be alert to periodic changes in traffic patterns and lane closures.

Shoulder restrictions on Garland Road. Rich Patch Road will be closed north of the intersection with Selma-Low Moor Road near Rich Patch Road and Garland Road. Flaggers will control traffic during daylight hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 250 (Hankey Mountain Highway) – Shoulder closures and occasional lane closures during replacement of bridge over White Oak Draft. Work zone is about 0.5 mile west of Route 728. Estimated project completion Jan. 29, 2016.
Route 250 (Hankey Mountain Highway) – Restricted to single lane with temporary traffic signals during replacement of bridge over Calfpasture River. Work zone is just east of Route 715 (Braley Pond Road). Estimated project completion March 2016.

Right and left shoulders closed 24/7. Limited space for traffic to merge onto southbound I-81 due to shortened on-ramp. Motorists should also be alert for trucks entering and exiting work zone.
