Staunton clerk of council earns Certified Municipal Clerk designation

staunton virginiaLinda Little, the Staunton clerk of council, has earned the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

The IIMC awards the designation to municipal clerks who complete demanding education requirements and who have a record of significant contributions to their local government, community, and state.

Little has been with the City for nearly 10 years. She serves as both a paralegal to City Attorney Douglas Guynn and the City’s clerk of council. Before joining the City, Little worked for 29 years in a number of administrative roles, including deputy clerk at a general district court; legal assistant; paralegal; planning and zoning agent and secretary.

Earlier this year, Little was named Clerk of the Year for Region III by the Virginia Municipal Clerks Association (VCMA). Region III of the VMCA encompasses 36 localities, stretching as far west as Monterey and as far north as Winchester.
