augusta-chamber-headerThe Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced that Sharon Sykes, the director of member services for the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild, will be the lead judge for the Craft Beer Competition during their Good Times Festival on Saturday, September 19th, at Shenandoah Acres Family Campground in Stuarts Draft.

Sykes manages all operational activities for the Guild and oversees the Virginia Craft Brewers Fest, Virginia Craft Beer Cup and Virginia Craft Beer Caucus.  She served as a steward for the 2015 Virginia Craft Beer Cup competition, adhering to the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) guidelines.

Prior to joining the Guild, Sykes was an associate at Virginia Wineries Association.  Sharon currently resides in Richmond, Virginia where she can be found enjoying a craft brew or glass of Virginia wine on the weekends. The Virginia Craft Brewers Guild is a coalition of independent, small, commercial breweries dedicated to the growing craft beer industry in the Commonwealth.

The website is virginiacraftbrewers.org.

Blue Ridge Beverage is the Presenting Sponsor for the Good Times Festival where they will be featuring 29 Craft Beers on tap, with five of them from Virginia.  The festival will also include a Burger Cook-Off with lead judge, Carolyn Bragg, Augusta County Supervisor for Stuarts Draft.
