Route 748 near Bridgewater closed March 19

road-work-headerThe Virginia Department of Transportation will close part of Route 748 (Thomas Spring Road) in Rockingham County on Thursday, March 19, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to replace a drainage pipe under the roadway. The work zone is west of Bridgewater between Route 613 (Spring Creek Road) and Route 909 (Silver Creek Road).

Signs will direct Route 748 motorists onto one of the following detours:

  • Eastbound traffic will continue north on Route 613; turn right on Route 752 (Beaver Creek Road); and right on Route 909 to return to Route 748.
  • Westbound traffic will turn right on Route 909; left on Route 752 (Beaver Creek Road); and left on Route 613 to return to Route 748.

The pipe replacement and resulting detours are expected to last a single day. All work is weather permitting. Local traffic can access properties along Route 748 by entering from the appropriate side of the work zone.
