Replacement of the Route 11 bridge over Cedar Creek at the Shenandoah-Warren County line is expected to open to two-way traffic on Monday, July 9. Motorists should be alert for a final traffic-pattern change as they approach the new bridge between Strasburg and Middletown.
Northbound and southbound drivers are tentatively scheduled to begin sharing the new bridge over Cedar Creek on the morning of July 9. Contractors will then start work to remove the old southbound bridge and its approaches. All work is weather permitting.
On January 18, 2017, the Commonwealth Transportation Board awarded a $6.9 million contract to Perry Engineering Co. Inc. of Winchester, Virginia. The contract completion date is November 2, 2018.
