RMH Hospice invites the community to take part in its annual Butterfly Picnic, with reflection, music and a butterfly release in honor of lost loved ones, 12:30-2 p.m. April 28 at the JMU Edith Carrier Arboretum.
The free, family event will feature live music from the Spotswood High School Jazz Band and Shekinah, children’s activities, a walk through the Arboretum trails and a butterfly release. Families are encouraged to bring their own picnic.
“This is an opportunity for our families to get together,” said Andree Jeannotte, bereavement coordinator, RMH Hospice. “We will have ‘a walk to remember,’ which is an opportunity for families to reminisce about their loved one. It’s really going to be an uplifting event. Springtime is a time of renewal and hope—that’s the message.”
Parking is available in JMU Convocation Center’s Lots G and F, across from the Arboretum. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held on April 29, Jeannotte noted.
